While many people believe that having a strong pitching arm is the key to being a great pitcher. The legs are arguably the most important part of the body for pitching. The legs are what create the momentum of the body moving to the mound. Furthermore, a strong and stable back leg will not only create even more power/ momentum for pitchers, it gives pitchers consistency. If the back leg is staying stable, pitchers will land in the same position and have the same release point. If the back leg is not staying stable the body will collapse down, leading to a lower release point, shorter stride, and ultimately not allow the body to maximize the momentum it should gain as the pitcher comes down the mound.
