Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is a lingering injury that can sideline an athlete for an extended period of time. Ryan Zimmrman, the Washington Nationals first baseman, was sidelined by Plantar Fasciitis for a significant amount of the 2015 season. The injury affects the soft tissue along the arch of the foot. Often this tissue gets over stretched. It can be from having a flat foot, improper footwear (while training and with basic activities not training), or by additional weight placed on the foot (I.e. Walking with ankle weights, or squatting heavy weights).
